KlientBoost had a plethora of positive online reviews and testimonials. They also had a number of videos online that spoke to some of the intricacies they take into account in their processes. In addition, we held a thorough introductory call with one of their senior strategists which we found very beneficial. All of these things helped make KlientBoost the clear choice for us.

KlientBoost helped us dissect our existing campaigns and determine what was working, what was not, and what new strategies needed to be implemented to get us to our goals. On top of the overhaul of our ads, KB was instrumental in introducing the value of landing pages to our company.

They were able to marry our complicated form forwarding process with a beautiful landing page that has been converting like crazy.

We regularly work with an Account Manager, PPC Strategist, Conversion Designer.

The assigned an account manager, a designer, a copywriter, and a few extra people based on our needs. The account manager was our most common point of contact.

Since working with them, we've been able to establish our base foundation for paid acquisition and have worked to improve our conversion month over month. We've gone from 0 paid leads to over 80+ consistently in just a short few months.

They've been great at managing and working within a brand new industry. We have lots of industry-specific speak that they've gone out of their way to learn and adapt to in their campaigns. In addition to this, they've been very responsive to any last-minute changes or are open to feedback.

I really appreciate their hands-on and friendly approach. Their team really cares about their relationships with their clients and it shows in the way they handle requests and explain each campaign they're working on.

Our goal was to get new ads created and approved by these channels since we have had issues with platform approval in the past.

How did you select KlientBoost?

We selected KlientBoost hoping that we'd get a dedicated team to accomplish our goals in a timely manner and work weekly to optimize ad performance.

We first met with a sales rep who was very easy to work with through contract negotiation. After selecting KB, we were contracted to have an account manager and a designer assigned to us.

Our account manager worked on setting up new ad channels and did a diligent job with our accounts and getting ads approved and running. It took a lot longer than expected to get ads on all the channels, but over all, we have been happy with the time and dedication our account manager spends with us.

What was the team composition?

We only work with our account manager and he sometimes works with a designer.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since working with KB, sales from paid ads has increased to account for 20% of our total revenue. Basically, KB manages our ads now on Facebook and Google and we see good return that's worth the investment. We also enjoy working with our account manager who is always helpful and easy to get a hold of. However, we thought we'd be getting more services from KB including accurate reporting (still lacking), higher quality design support, and quicker turnaround for channel setup.

After over a month of issues trying to secure creative design from KB, our account manager said they don't usually provide a lot of creative, and it was very unclear why the sales rep and our contract promised us this. The low quality design and lack of creative material was where KB fell short.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our project manager is very easy to communicate with and consistently provides short weekly email updates and longer bi-weekly calls. We are happy with their level of support.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We are impressed by our project manager's understanding of Facebook Ads and his determination to improve FB performance. He is also quick to troubleshoot and fix things that require his expertise. Additionally, we appreciate his consistent and clear communication.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Sales should spend more time understanding client needs and expectations before drafting contracts that KB cannot fulfill. When the sales rep promised us we'd have a designer to create ads for us, we expected that- However, this contracted promise was not fulfilled in a way that met our expectations: we did not have a dedicated designer and the designer that our project manager was able to get some help from did not provide quality work.

Finally, the lead designer for the design team was put on our case and was able to provide some designs that worked better. We also expected detailed and accurate reporting. While we have reporting from the social platforms we advertise on, the reporting from KB is inaccurate and too high level to analyze.

Thanks to the landing page design, content, and clear call-to-actions we reached an average of 7% conversion rate on our landing pages. Our average conversion rate across Google Ads was about 6% and close to 1% on the display networks, well above our industry averages.

Additionally, previous PPC consultants have required us to use their Adwords account and pay a margin per click. KlientBoost's model is they manage your existing Adwords account for a fixed fee.

This was far superior in our view as we could easily see how the results trended over a longer period of time, plus we keep the results at the end of the project.

Once it was confirmed that KlientBoost's landing page was superior, the next stage involved putting 100% of our PPC traffic via the new landing page and making minor adjustments to the PPC settings and the landing page elements to further drive conversions.

Ultimately we now have great visibility on our PPC's ROI through accurate conversion rate tracking and cost-per-conversion tracking. KlientBoost has now handed control of the account back to our internal team so we can continue to manage our own PPC campaigns.

Being a brand new account it has been challenging to chase down all of the internal connections needed to launch these brand new ad accounts, but they have been hands on since day one.

I've been working closely with a project manager and our ads manager. The team is fantastic in that they are fun to engage with and able to think strategically for the needs of our business.

We have been running ads for a little over 3 weeks and in that time we have completely overwhelmed our sales team with quality leads for less than half the CPL expected. We started by crawling with a bit of spend that would dictate what audiences were working and where we needed to pivot.

After that initial week of ads we we have maintained a steady CPL around $20 for demo requests! We recently scaled our daily budgets and saw over 200+ demo request leads in one day while still maintaining quality and a CPL of $20 or less.

The workflow between our teams has been really smooth. We meet once weekly and work via email outside of that. The KlientBoost team has built in-depth Google Data Studio reports so I can check in on the progress/results of our ads in real time.

While working with Klientboost, we consistently hit our KPI targets. Specifically, lead volume and cost per leads targets where achieved. Additionally, their design team delivered great quality landing pages and creatives on time.

With Klientboost, every month we would set volume and cost targets, but we would organize tasks on a weekly basis, so every week, on a 30-60 minute call, we would quickly review the prior week's KPIs, and then plan our next steps for the following week. Communication was mainly through email and skype. Our account manager was generally open to hoping into an un-scheduled call, in case plans changed in between weekly calls.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The Klientboost team was very professional. Communication with them was never a problem, as their emails were always very well structured, clear, and on time. However what we appreciated the most as a company, where their creative design inputs. Their design team is very strong, they brought new ideas to the table and implemented them very quickly.

Paid search performance was strong with Klientboost, but we had our hopes up with the Google Display Network as well, and unfortunately, we never quite cracked this channel throughout our relationship.

Full PPC management, including strategy, ad creation, bid setting, location targeting, ad scheduling, etc... We allowed them to change or manipulate anything they thought would be helpful.

The second part of their job was to create and optimize the landing pages that were used for the PPC clicks. Again, they had full control to do whatever they wanted to the landing pages as long as they thought it would help achieve a lower Cost Per Lead over the long run.

I had one main point of contact who I had calls/emails with on a regular basis to discuss progress and strategy. This was the same person that was actually doing the PPC management and (I believe) overseeing the CRO of the landing pages.

I also know that he had access to an entire group of other experts at KB who could help him if needed and they all met once a week to discuss, as a group, any accounts that needed extra attention.

The conversion rate of the landing pages they created went from 9-12% to over 20%. They cut Cost Per Lead in half. We already had a pretty low CPL, compared to the industry average, so their performance was excellent.

Communication was excellent across the board. Phone and email were enough to facilitate the relationship, but occasionally did a screen share so that we would both be looking at the same thing and there would be no confusion.

We did a series of interviews with 5 different digital marketing agencies. We met with them all several times and ultimately selected KlientBoost because we were impressed by their deeper level of insight into paid search, their unique SKAG method of building paid search terms and the team's personable and mature demeanor.

We were looking for true experts in paid search that had a significant amount of experience handling large budgets and results to back up their ability to spend budgets. The Vice President of Marketing, myself, our CEO, the General Counsel and our COO were all involved in the decision-making process.

The scope was to develop a paid search and paid social strategy leveraging a budget of approximately $600K per month to deliver leads. They built and executed our paid search plan on Bing and Google including, but not limited to, setting up our keywords, monitoring performance, building landing pages, A/B testing landing pages, testing SKAGs, paid search text testing.

Additionally, they managed our paid social strategy for Facebook including the optimization of ads, ad copy, ad creative, landing pages, syncing with Salesforce and reporting of insights.

They were also responsible for reporting to us bi-weekly and on a monthly cadence as well to summarize overall results. My role in the project was to manage the agency, double-check their work, report back to our CEO and VP of Marketing and provide feedback and direction to Klientboost.

One particular campaign objective was to generate 2,000 leads per month in the specific geographic locations (zip codes) that were identified as open territories. Not only did Klientboost meet this expectation, they blew it out of the water.

Our CEO was very impressed by the month-over-month growth in leads and the lead quality was reported as higher than before we brought KB on. Additionally, we had another project that was much more challenging.

We need to set up paid search campaigns in 50 international countries. Klientboost successfully set up these campaigns in other languages with the support of Google's team and helped us with all translation and education around the differences of these international markets.

The team included a Senior Account Manager, an Account Manager, a Social Strategist, two designers, the CEO and the Head of Sales. The size of the team stayed the same over the course of the partnership.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were tasked with generating 2,000 leads per month and not only did we meet that expectation, but we also exceeded it. Additionally, we saw an increase in the number of closed deals and our sales team was very happy to have an influx of leads in the specific geographic territories they were looking for those leads to be from.

The results of the engagement exceeded our initial expectations. We did not think we'd find such a committed partner and we felt prepared for our internal meetings with the CEO with their help.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was effective between our team and theirs. We used Asana to manage our communications and keep projects organized. The team at Klientboost was very good with constructive criticism.

The only thing I would say they could work on is double-checking work before sending it over, however when I would tell the team about an issue, they would be quick to resolve it.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed by how young and ambitious the entire team was. They all seem genuinely happy to work at Klientboost and have a team camaraderie that is to be emulated. Additionally, their insights, educational materials and willingness to spend time teaching us was incredibly valuable.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

When running CRO experiments, the expectation is to learn if a certain hypotheses is true or false, whether a change can impact conversions one way or another. There's always a takeaway and it might not always be a metric.

For example, in one of the variants we ran, we noticed that performance of our branded keywords tanked even though they did well for us historically. Sometimes, it's a new angle we can try in overall strategy.

Even when a change causes no change, we know that the change wasn't significant enough. There is always progress as long as we're making adjustments. Micro changes over time can lead to macro impact.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We did most of our communication via Slack which was nice from an "immediate response" standpoint. The rest was done via weekly status calls. KlientBoost did give us access to their project management tool for our project specifically which allows for transparency.

In general, the work moved pretty smoothly and we didn't experience any "misses" in communication even with the various tools.

Yes. As I mentioned earlier, we had to cut Ad spend this year due Covid. However, even with the limited Ad spend, we were still able to produce results that more than justified the spend. We have since bumped our budget back up.

I found the workflow to work really well. Primarily, they have been really response. Having a dedicated account manager is great. It is so much better than dealing with a random customer service again.

Citron Hennessey Therapy is a mental health therapy practice with over 30 employees. We’ve moved into the online space and are operating as a boutique startup. I’m the CTO of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with KlientBoost?

We wanted more traffic to the website. We’ve recently revamped it, and we were trying to move away from other booking platforms in mental health or healthcare in general. There are some bigger players that we’d have to go through, and we wanted to form our own online presence.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired KlientBoost to take care of the Google Ads side of marketing. We began with conversations on what exactly we were looking for. The goal was to increase traffic and have more clients book online through our website, so that we wouldn’t have to give half our revenue to someone procuring the lead, which is what a lot of the booking platforms on the market do.

KlientBoost did keyword research for us, looking at what competitors were doing. They tried to either challenge or find unused relevant words within Google Ads, which we could focus our energy into. They targeted specific areas based on what we advised them.

KlientBoost developed a way for us to track where people were going and ending up on the site, and who the most popular therapists were. We created a system for managing this data, which hadn’t existed before. It wasn’t necessarily beyond their scope, but they were helpful in places where they didn’t have to be, providing information that wasn’t really in their remit.

It would’ve been very expensive to build a custom booking software, and we’re at the mercy of HIPAA laws. There are many things that we can’t do, that normal companies can, whether it’s marketing or where we store data. The provider has to sign a BAA and has to be certified up to a certain level in terms of security. We’re currently using Acuity Scheduling.

What is the team composition?

Matt (Senior Growth Strategist) was our first contact and the person who pitched to us. The person I’m dealing with on a weekly basis is Kimball (Account Manager). We catch up, talk strategy, and make sure we’re still heading on the right track.

Every three months, Graham (Team Director) checks in with me to have a conversation and see how everything’s going. He asks if there’s anything more they could do, and where they failed and succeeded. They’re feedback junkies and love to be told what is and isn’t working.

I get regular emails from Kim (VP of Client Services), with surveys on how we’re doing and what’s going on. It’s the first time I’ve had a company actively seek out to learn what our experience is.

How did you come to work with KlientBoost?

I’m a research junkie, so I went through every reputable review site and anecdotal blogs to see which names come up over and over. I used Clutch and other general review sites found on Google. The choice was between KlientBoost and two other companies, and I sent an email to all three. Nobody got back to me except for KlientBoost.

Matt was great at laying down what they do and how they conduct themselves. KlientBoost made it clear early on that they’re all about transparency and clarity, which is something we didn’t have with a lot of other companies we’d worked with previously. Our two founders aren’t the most tech-savvy people, but Matt provided them information in a digestible way. KlientBoost gave us an honest assessment of where we were and what it would take to get to where we wanted.

I also hired an SEO agency through Clutch, which was voted best boutique agency of 2018–2019. They help with the organic traffic.

How much have you invested with them?

Not including our Google Ads budget, the cost of their work so far is around $14,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with KlientBoost in May 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The biggest goal for our work with KlientBoost is increasing website traffic, and it’s gotten better month by month.

Success for us was a client seeing an ad, going to the website, booking an appointment, and confirming it. Once someone books, we need to call them, get their insurance information, and quote them. We look at who actually confirms and walks into the office or takes a Zoom call, and we measure the CPA of a client based on that.

We’ve essentially created a system made from various different HIPAA-compliant cloud software, and we’re interconnecting everything to work as we need it to. We’ve gotten more confirmed appointments through Google Ads every month, and that was essentially all we were looking for.

How did KlientBoost perform from a project management standpoint?

The overall communication is excellent. In terms of project management, I like to micromanage in the beginning, so that everyone knows what we want, and then trust the people we’ve hired to know what they’re doing. I leave them to it and check in every now and again.

There haven’t really been hard deadlines, other than listing what we’re looking for and aiming to improve month over month. KlientBoost is doing keyword research and A/B testing, and they do everything they say they will, before we’ll have our next conversation. As long as I see an upward trend on how things are progressing, I trust that what they’re doing is working.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We love KlientBoost’s constant attention in making sure we’re taken care of in the way we want to be. We’re not fitting into their system. They look at how they can cater it to us, and how they can work with us to make the experience better. That constant request for feedback could get annoying for some companies, but, as a small-to-medium business, we love that kind of attention, and we feel we’re getting value for money when we see it.

Some companies want us to trust them, and it is what it is. KlientBoost wants us to trust them, but they’ll explain things from the very basic to as advanced as we want, and they’re always there for any questions we have.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One suggestion I gave them, which they said was the exact opposite of what most clients want, was to rotate account managers or people, so that we could get a different perspective every now and again. I like to get lots of different opinions, as long as we’re moving in the same direction.

They could also meet up and discuss clients with each other, but I don’t know how feasible that is during COVID.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should be honest and open in what they want, and have KlientBoost determine if it’s possible. From my experience with them, they’re a company of honesty, integrity, and full transparency, and I trust them when they say that something’s possible or not possible. Someone looking to work with them should squeeze them for all their knowledge.

I also know I can reach out anytime and he will respond if something comes up between meetings. At the start of working with KlientBoost we needed to build our website’s reputation so we laid our goals out by going for high volume keywords that were easy to target on the SEO side while using PPC to go for the much difficult keywords.

Every time we said “hey we have this idea,” their team would bend over backwards to help us figure out to make it possible, giving us key deliverables.

Since we have been working with Klient boost our month over month traffic has been steadily increasing with a steady increase of inbound leads.

Looking to be present in the search results in our emerging markets where we do not yet necessarily rank for keywords, but also to take up some more real estate in the SERPs where we do for extra presence/lead gen. We worked the guys hard on a very demanding schedule for new management requirements in terms of spend and deliverables. They always help to provide a great service in tough conditions.

We have dozens of campaigns over eight e-commerce websites running at any given time, so it's almost impossible to go into detail with everything, but most of their projections involve:

keyword & placement research, managing multi-channel PPC networks, ongoing PPC auditing, competitor research, ad split testing, conversion review, proper audience targeting, keyword & geo granularity, bid management execution and analytics reporting.

Typically, I work with three people from KlientBoost, including: the Director of Agency Development, our Account Manager, and the Director of eCommerce

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our top goal for any campaign that we run is always to ensure that our return on ad spend is sufficient enough (for us, at least a 3.0) to justify the expenditure. It was a long-term goal, but KlientBoost has been able to help us achieve that goal this year.

Because we measure results on at least a monthly basis, they're able to test for a sufficient period of time but not long enough to do any financial harm if the campaign doesn't succeed, and then adjust as needed.

This speed has allowed us to take small but measured steps toward our goal, which we've now surpassed.

Our KlientBoost reps report to us on a monthly basis via a Zoom call so we can walk through all of the numbers and discuss campaign successes and any shortcomings that we need to address for the next month. It's important to note that while we meet monthly, they are open to meeting as often or as little as we want.

Good communication is key for any team, especially marketing professionals - it's what we live and breathe all day.

So for KlientBoost to take the initiative for regular reporting (as frequently as we request) and to be so transparent with all of the data (even when it's not exactly what we'd all hoped for) has made this an ideal working relationship.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Originally the company reps were waiting for my team and me to be more proactive with them, but they quickly realized that we are tapped out on bandwidth, and they started reaching out to us in advance of standard deadlines.

Like all relationships, it just took a little time for them to fully understand how they could best serve us, which they've done well ever since.

Goals have been defined clearly and onboarding has been smooth as well, besides from actual deliverables, organized project management and groundwork/expectation set up are essential for small businesses like us.

They managed two different brands for us for Google ads and Conversion Rate Optimization/Landing Page testing. Onboarding was smooth and expectation has been set early on.

Advertising plan, budget, ROAS goals are aligned and delivered - we did have some challenges scaling up but it's still early on the account, therefore we aligned that ROAS is still the major goal to keep up, and it has been well maintained so that we can stay on the profitable side on this ad platform.

We have a main account manager handling Google Ads, and another manager handling CRO.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our ad spend has a 74% increase while ROAS has a 60% improvement - as much as we would love to grow even quicker, this is a probably a healthier and steady growth for our platform.

Weekly meetings have been precise and on point, and updates are being tracked on Asana. We recently also set up Slack so communications should even be more effective and instant when needed.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Goals achievement. We are quite happy with the results so far. On top of that, they do go beyond the scope at times and give us suggestions on other aspects that helps with marketing and sales overall.

I hope there would be support on Feed management - this can probably improve ads performance even more with closer monitoring and optimization, but I understand KB has been expanding their service constantly, so hopefully this will be something we can look forward to after the busy holiday season.
